Hippopottering Nurseries

I bought a Shishigashira maple from here as a gift for a friends 50th, she’s been wanting that specific variety for years. I couldn’t find one anywhere and finally stumbled across Hippo.
The tree arrived within 5 days, and I am blown away by the quality of it, it’s absolutely perfect and my friend is so happy with it.
She loves acers and says she will be looking at Hippo for her own purchase in the future, and I think I will too.
Really happy.
Only potential issue is that I never received a confirmation email, even in junk, which did concern me a bit. I’ll let hippo know as would hate for them to get issues because of this.

Buyer beware! Purchasing an acer from Hippopottering is like a gateway drug, the quality of their trees is second to none, and you will find yourself with an incurable obsession to collect them all.
I would recommend to anyone buying Japanese maples from Pat and Lolli, their knowledge of maples is impeccable and they are always ready to provide advice and guidance. I would also encourage you to look out for an open day or ask for an appointment to visit them, their selection of trees and variety across their nursery is outstanding, a real treat for any maple enthusiast.

I cannot recommend Pats and Lollis trees enough. Their knowledge and the cultivars they sell are always incredible, and I've never been disappointed in ANY I have bought. Her wisdom and intelligence for Japanese maples is second to non, and I wont buy my maples from anywhere or anyelse

I have just received two beautiful trees from Hippopottering. I was a bit worried as the courier held them over the weekend but they were so well packaged they were absolutely fine after a drink of water. I ordered another tree online on Sunday and after ordering decided I wanted another tree. I emailed the owners and got a very quick response, they have added another tree to the order and only another pound for delivery. So excellent communication. I’m very happy with my purchase and highly recommend Hippopottering Nurseries.
